L3 Foiler

Watch the video »

The L3 has won the NZ R Class Nationals (Leander) four years in a row. A bit of power boat design theory has gone into creating this exciting skiff. It features a full length down turned chine flat that creates lift, which in turn enabled the hull to be a lot narrower than normal. With the R Class rule being very open and encouraging development, the next step was to fit hydro foils. This has proven to be a huge success, and the L3 has won multiple nationals with the hydro foils.
